Characteristic Kuningan

Brass atau Kuningan adalah paduan tembaga (Cu) dan seng (Zn), dalam proporsi tertentu yang dapat bervariasi untuk mencapai berbagai sifat mekanik dan fisik yang diinginkan. Kuningan bersifat antibakteri, karena itulah material kuningan banyak digunakan buat alat memasak dan peralatan makan karena memiliki efek yang tidak buruk bagi kesehatan.

Ciri-ciri Kuningan secara umum adalah:

  • Warna kuning keemasan,tetapi lebih kusam dari emas
  • memiliki kelenturan lebih tinggi daripada perunggu
  • tidak menempel magnet
  • menimbulkan bunyi nyaring ketika diketuk
  • Ketahanan tinggi terhadap korosi dari air garam

Heksagonal Brass (As Kuningan Segi Enam)
